Shelley, Chairperson / Communications Director.

An experienced Communications, Media & PR Professional, Shelley holds an MA in International Journalism and brings over 17 years experience of working in the public and private sectors to the table. As a Crisis Communications & Management Specialist, Shelley has lead a number of high profile incidents and is an experienced spokesperson. Community orientated, much of her free time volunteering with local volunteer and community organisations.

Gail, Vice Chair/Board Director

Working with Castlehill Housing Association, Gail often works in  partnership with the other Housing Associations and NESCU to provide carpets and furniture for tenants moving into their new homes. When she was asked to consider joining the board Gail felt it was an opportunity to get involved with an organisation that could provide other vital services to our tenants and to the wider local community.

Joan, Treasurer/Board Director

An FCCA accredited accountant with over 20 years’ experience working across a broad range of financial environments, Joan also has a PG Dip. in Business Administration from Stirling University. Currently the Finance Manager at the Castlehill Housing Association , Joan has successfully established a proven record in the delivery of accurate financial management information, refinement of working processes and optimisation of an organisation’s profitability.

Margaret, Secretary/Board Director

A long serving board Member, Margaret has contributed over 5 years to NESCU as Board Secretary. With over 30 years experience developing new initiatives for Grampian Housing Association, Margaret brings a wealth of financial inclusion and grant funding experience to the team, having managed the CASH IN YOUR POCKET team.

Yvonne, Board Director

Since Joining the board in 2016, Yvonne’s expertise has proved invaluable. An HR Specialist with extensive experience across the private and public sector, Yvonne has excelled providing help and support to the senior management team in terms of developing HR and volunteer policies and contributed to drafting a five year plan in 2016

Bill, Board Director

An Experienced Business Operator, Bill is also one of Aberdeen's highly respected Entreprenuers with a network for businesses in the city. Bill brings invaluable business operating experience to the NESCU board table.

Willie, Board Director

Wullie is one of our founding members and a legacy board member for NESCU. Starting his credit union career at Greenfern. Decades later, Wullie has been an integral part of NESCU growth and development from its Northfield roots, to its position here on Victoria Road and provides a wealth of local and NESCU historical knowledge which benefits the board. With his unmistakable white hair, Wullie is also our resident Santa Clause - and one of Aberdeen’s best kept secrets! (Sssshhhhh!).

Chris, NESCU Board Supervisor

Chris is a Chartered Accountant, who trained with James Milne Co in Aberdeen. He worked for 25 years in the oil industry before moving into the third sector. He most recently worked as Director of Training for a social impact lender in Tanzania and was keen to join NESCU on his return to maintain a link with social enterprise.
